Training

All first aid training presented by Network Medical Services is accredited by the Department of Labor (CI 467) and ensures legal compliance in terms of section 3 of the General Safety Regulations framed under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993. On completion of the course, all students receive a registered first aid certificate valid for three years.

General first aid course content:

·       Principles of basic life support and emergency scene management.

·       Basic bandage techniques.

·       Primary and secondary survey of the patient.

·       Artificial resuscitation.

·       CPR – Adult, child and infant.

·       Management of asphyxiation and airway obstructions.

·       Management of impaled objects and lacerations.

·       Management of severe bleeding.

·       Management of shock and unconscious patients.

·       Management of fractures.

·       Management of burn wounds.

·       Management of head and spinal injuries.

·       Management of eye injuries.

·       Poisoning
